Allow myself to introduce...myself
My name is Ben Kopel and I am a web designer currently residing in the Northwest
suburbs of Chicago, IL.
There are several reasons why I enjoy web design. One reason is because of the creativity it allows. If you overlook
some of the bothersome restrictions such as browser compatibility and web standards, there isn't much holding you back.
Another reason is the convenience factor. I believe the internet is an extremely valuable tool which benefits society
and makes people's lives easier. Don't get me wrong, I don't think people should sit at a computer all day, but why
go to Border's to buy a book when you could order it online for less? Why call the movie theater to see what the showtimes are?
Why get out the map when you need directions? Anyways, I enjoy trying to make people's lives easier.
After a short lived infatuation with Flash, I have learned the joys of CSS,
which makes the creation and maintenence of sites much easier. Moving from tables to CSS
would be akin to moving from a pogo stick to a car as a means of transportation.
In my spare time, I really enjoy reading, traveling and keeping up with current events.
With all the controversy swirling throughout the world these days, I think we all can agree on one thing - the web should be faster, safer and easier to use. So, if you haven't ditched Internet Explorer yet, now is a great time to download Mozilla Firefox. You can thank me later.
